Elegant Lombard or Ligurian chest of drawers with a drop-front desk from the third quarter of the 18th century.
Three olive burl veneered drawers with fruitwood stringing adorn the front of the piece. The first drawer opens as a drop-front, revealing a "scarabattolo" (small writing desk) compartment with six small drawers. The sides feature the same burl veneer and inlays, as does the top, which is further centered by a graceful rosette.
Original hinges and escutcheons, original back and drawer bottoms from the period.
Solid truncated pyramid feet.
