"Still Life with Flowers" 137 x 170 SOLD  Translated
Description:
"Still Life with Flowers" Gaspare Lopez (Naples 1667-1732) Oil on canvas Early 18th century Canvas dimensions 137 x 170 frame 145 x 180 Coeval solid walnut frame with gilded profile Extraordinary Still Life with Flowers, particularly complex and large, rich in botanical and floral species. It is a typical example of the pictorial skills of the famous Master Gaspare Lopez, creator of important floral still lifes, initially active in Naples and later in Rome and Florence. The very lively composition depicted here is characteristic of the themes proposed by the Neapolitan artist specializing in works dominated by large waterfalls of flowers and set outdoors among natural elements. The work, despite its large size, is completely redundant with flowers and the exceptional quality of the brushstrokes is present in all the infinite details, always clean and precise. As in his most important creations, the context of the setting is particularly elaborate, so as to overcome the classic stereotype of the "still life" for a much more complex and scenographic context. The rocks, wet from the water that runs through them in small waterfalls, represent an ideal background and are depicted in an excellent way. It is evidently a high-level painting that required a great commitment from the Author, without any yielding in the entire spectacular sequence of floral and vegetable depictions. The visual effect on the wall is truly extraordinary and the beauty of the canvas, with its large dimensions, involves and attracts the viewer in a continuous observation of the scene. Excellent state of preservation with old professionally executed relining. FIMA certificate of authenticity and detailed descriptive sheet Negotiable price and personalized payment  Translated
