Author: Dutch School
The author of these two beautiful paintings renders the fruits and flowers he paints with the utmost realism, placing his "still lifes" on rocks, making the whole thing of great scenic effect.
The expression "natura morta" is translated into English as "still life," that is, immobile or suspended life, and it is a more appropriate definition to describe these compositions of flowers and fruit.
The painter, in fact, had to wait for the various seasons to paint from life and thus be able to compose his two works.
If we notice, there are flowers and fruits that do not belong to the same time of year. So, in painting, he had to wait and therefore "suspend" painting while waiting for some flowers to bloom and the fruit to be harvested. In both paintings, there are spring flowers such as tulips, daffodils, peonies, primroses, dahlias (almost summer) and roses. The summer fruit is represented by peaches, which are also placed inside a fine glass fruit bowl together with sprigs and bunches of grapes, autumn fruit, such as apples, pears and plums. In the other painting, peaches can be glimpsed inside a white ceramic plate with blue decorations, still in the company of a bunch of black grapes and vine shoots and, resting on the rock, apples and pears.
Ideal for dining room or living room walls.

MEANING OF THE FLOWERS
The TULIP: symbol of perfect union and therefore of true love, but also of wealth because, when it arrived in Holland, it was the prerogative of a few and considered a luxury.
The NARCISSUS: its meaning is of rebirth, renewal. Security and self-love.
The PEONY: It embodies love, affection, prosperity, honor, nobility of soul and even peace.
The PRIMROSE: the small primrose has the great meaning, blooming at the end of winter, of the rebirth of life.
The DAHLIA: its flowering accompanies us from June, July until the first frosts and expresses gratitude and recognition.
