Saint Stephen, Umbria, late 17th century. 
Description:
Oil on canvas from the late 17th century of beautiful quality, recently relined and therefore in excellent condition. The painting depicts Saint Stephen, recognizable by his attributes, the palm frond and the bloodied stone, both symbols of his martyrdom; He is depicted young, beardless and wearing the deacon's dalmatic. The painting can be traced back to a school in the Umbrian area active in the last quarter of the 17th century. The painting, recently restored, is in excellent condition. The dimensions are approximately 75cm in height x 58cm in width. We will enclose a historical certificate of authenticity with the sale.
