Oil on canvas of excellent quality, signed on the side to the right, presents an alpine landscape with a small female figure and two goats which, although small in size, are excellently executed. Thessel was born in Wurzen in 1830, traveling for study in Switzerland, Tyrol and Bavaria. He died in Dresden in 1873, leaving a beautiful production of mountain landscapes.
