The refined and rare console table, made by the famous Maison Baguès manufacture, consists of a shaped ovoid top in Bardiglio marble, with a blue-grey color, and a finely chiseled gilded bronze structure with the characteristic decorations of the French manufacturer.
The lower surface is smooth, a feature that gives elegance and grace to the whole. The six legs are composed of single legs at the lateral ends and in pairs for the four more central legs. The structure is worked in bronze with palmette motifs and ends with caprine paw sabot feet. The legs are connected by curvilinear crosspieces that join in the center. This type of architecture is also characteristic of the manufacture; however, the architectural ensemble of the console is rare and difficult to find on the antique market.
The very famous Parisian company Maison Baguès has created lighting and furniture works famous throughout the world and today it is recognized as synonymous with elegance and refinement. Baguès was born in Auvergne around 1840 and specialized in bronze works. The company developed considerably at the end of the 19th century, with the advent of electricity, with objects for lighting.
This console table can be placed in the center of a room as it is well finished on all its sides. It stands out for the elegance of the line, very graceful, for the luminosity of the gold and light marble and for the modernity of a design that will never be obsolete and that knows how to dialogue well with antique and contemporary furnishings.
