VOTIVE ALTAR MADONNA, SOUTHERN ITALY, 18TH CENTURY

Splendid votive statue depicting the Madonna, wearing elegant silk clothes and a silver crown, and placed on a wooden base painted in imitation of marble. The Madonna has rich hair and is dressed in a white dress cinched at the waist and a celestial cloak. She also wears a rosary necklace around her neck. This is a precious antique object with compact dimensions, originally positioned on the altar of a church. Made in southern Italy during the second half of the 18th century.
