Watercolor painting depicting a mountain landscape with a lake, skillfully crafted and signed by Samuel Henry Baker, an English landscape painter who painted watercolor scenes of mountain and rural landscapes. A member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, he trained at the Birmingham School of Design and took lessons from Joseph Paul Pettit, from whom he inherited the distinctive drawing style of the Birmingham School with its clear outlines and bold hatching. Finally, the painting is housed in a beautiful gilded frame from the late 19th century.
