The pair of delightful candelabras was made in France in the second half of the 18th century, during the Louis XVI period. The two candelabras, mirroring each other, consist of a cylindrical white marble base with chiseled and gilded bronze reserves on which two winged putti rest, made with a bronze casting with a dark patina finish. The nude putti have their private parts covered by a chiseled and gilded bronze drapery. The two figures hold in their hands, as if to illuminate, a large stem from which three curved candle-holder arms branch out. The candle holders are made of finely chiseled gilded bronze, decorated with phytomorphic acanthus leaf motifs. A fourth candle holder rises vertically from the central stem, in gilded bronze, culminating higher than the others, with a semi-ovoid decorative element chiseled with leafy motifs.
These refined candelabras are easily placed individually or in pairs, on top of a chest of drawers, a console table, a gueridon or a small table in any room of your house or studio. They will be suitable next to antique furniture or modern furnishings and will provide an elegant decorative contribution thanks to the chromatic interplay created between the different materials used.
