Alberto Colognato (Verona 1912 - Milan 1996), also known as "the Blond", participated in several group exhibitions of the Society of Fine Arts, the Bevilacqua La Masa and some union exhibitions. However, he soon moved away from them, considering them to be worldly places and occasions where one's own art was not presented, but only one's own person and the ability to convince the public or critics. Precisely because of his reticence and shyness, Alberto Colognato's work is little known, but the analysis reveals an artistic personality who looked carefully at the artistic experiences of Hans Arp, Max Ernst, Henry Moore, Henri Laurens.
Alberto Colognato was particularly fascinated by materials. After his death, many exhibitions were organised in Brera and Verona, at the Galleria allo Scudo, which dedicated a retrospective to him in 2002.
His works are deep, dense and impenetrable sculptures. The artist's aim is to create an original articulation of space.
The work measures 84 cm in height, 20 cm in length and 12 cm in depth.
