This chest of drawers was made in Lombardy in the Baroque period at the end of the 17th century. The wooden structure is made of solid walnut, veneered and inlaid with walnut burl and light woods on the front of the four drawers. The top of the cabinet and the base are slightly protruding, supported by 45-degree front uprights, carved and molded to simulate two pilaster strips, lacquered and decorated with plant-shaped engravings. Below the frame of the top, on the front and sides, a band called a lambrecchini, or a dense sequence of trilobed elements, runs along the perimeter, characteristic of the Lombard area. The sides are decorated with carvings and geometric frames of a darker color. The feet, also dark, are corbels and projecting. The state of conservation is good; some missing parts and small defects are noted.
The chest of drawers can be placed in various rooms such as studies, lounges, dining rooms and bedrooms, next to antique and modern furnishings.
