Brass vase, entirely hand-engraved in relief, from Isfahan, the ancient city of Persia and capital of the kingdom in the 17th century.
Isfahan artists, especially miniaturists, are famous all over the world: exceptional objects can be found in museums (especially British ones).
This dates back to the 1960s, it was only for ornament, but then it was modified into a lamp: for this reason it has a small hole at the base for the electric wire, but it is not very noticeable.
