This center cabinet was made in France, during the Directory period, between the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The wooden structure is veneered in cherry wood, with its characteristic warm and pleasant color that ranges from pinkish-brown to reddish, with some darker wooden elements, which create contrast and compositional liveliness.
The white marble top is surrounded on three sides by a slightly raised wooden frame, useful for preventing any objects placed on the top from slipping. On the front there are three drawers with knobs and a keyhole escutcheon in gilded and chiseled bronze with leaf motifs.
The four legs, in the shape of an inverted pyramid trunk, end with gilded bronze tips resting on small wheels.
The cabinet is finished on all four sides; this allows it to be displayed even in the center of a room, positioned between two sofas or armchairs, or placed against walls or used as a bedside table. The light color and elegant line provide versatility and ease of insertion in any furnishing context, combined with antique or modern furniture.
