Antique trendy wooden wall clock from Boulle.
Masterpiece of French manufacturing attributable to the reign of Napoleon III and with a good dose of approximation towards the middle of the 19th century.
The watch case has a hexagonal shape embellished with applications in gilded copper skilfully grafted with small parts in brass and "tortoiseshell wood" prepared for inlaid racemes on wood. A real triumph of savoir-faire worthy of the best watchmaking cabinetry of the time. Sophisticated in the refinement expressed through the use and combination of several heterogeneous materials. The external part is ebonized and encloses the original glass which gives access, when raised, to the wooden dial painted in blue, where the Roman numerals are drawn inside a small shield with a white background and enclosed by a gold painted frame scrolled. The beautiful brass hands are worked in the "rococo" style. At the center of the dial, decorations and racemes follow one another, concealing the two holes for charging and striking the watch.
“A Paris” type square machine with pendulum. Strikes the hours and half hours on the gong.
