This elegant center desk, therefore finished on all four sides, was made in the 19th century in France, in the Louis XV style. The wooden structure is veneered with bois de rose wood. The top, slightly curved, has a green leather insert, stamped in gold along the border. On the front, the piece of furniture has three drawers: one central and two deeper lateral ones. The four legs are arched and give grace to the overall composition. The feet have tips in gilded and chiseled bronze with volutes and vegetal ornaments. The entire desk is embellished with applications in gilded and finely chiseled bronze: borders, frames, keyhole escutcheons of the drawers, feature phytomorphic ornaments in rocaille taste. Very particular and valuable are the four all-around applications in gilded bronze on the uprights of the legs. These are finely chiseled bronze sculptures with female busts that become foliated elements.
The light and bright wood essence and the refinement of the decorative elements make this desk very pleasant, light as a whole and easily adaptable to any environment. Its predisposition as a center table, moreover, allows it to be exhibited in any furnishing situation.
