Gold and enamel chatelaine from the late eighteenth century for a pocket watch, of refined workmanship, worked in a snake-like fashion in the Empire style and with a finely chiseled and enameled end piece depicting a dolphin and original winding key. Vienna, Neoclassical period, 1790-1800 approx. Not hallmarked (this happened when goldsmiths of the time acted without applying imperial taxes and concessions). Reacts to 14k regent. Can also be used as a refined piece of jewelry or bracelet.
