Wooden structure skillfully bent to create the desired shape.
The surface of the sides and lid are covered with a very light layer of plaster/pastille, decorated with a burin, then bole, and subsequently gilded and painted.
The upper surface of the lid is centered by a painted bird among floral and foliar plant decorations.
Central or Northern Italy, 17th-18th century.
