The elegant center desk was made in northern France towards the end of the 18th century. The wooden structure is finely veneered with exotic wood species, such as rosewood, green wood, and satinwood.
The top has a decoration of concentric frames with a large, darker mirror in the center that optically reduces the dimensions, lightening the piece of furniture. The front, with a large drawer, and the sides offer chromatic plays through the use of different woods, creating frames and panels. The interior of some of these panels are in black lacquer and create a very fine and particular chromatic contrast. Finely chiseled and gilded bronzes adorn the surfaces, embellishing the desk.
The four legs, in the shape of an inverted truncated pyramid, are also decorated with wood essences of different colors that aim to streamline the overall architecture. They end with bronze tips.
This desk, characterized by a light and balanced color, is very decorative and refined, easily placed in any environment, even in the center of a room as it is completely finished on all four sides. The type of decoration makes it suitable both combined with antique furniture and, particularly, in modern contexts.
