English desk supported by truncated-pyramidal legs with brass feet, it has three drawers in the band; the top in the center has a Moroccan insert that can be lifted into a lectern and is equipped with a "U"-shaped riser with drawers. In mahogany, it is equipped with a brass railing. The name "Carlton House Desk" takes its name from the London residence of the future George IV, for whom George Hepplewhite designed and built this model in the 18th century.
