Belgian painter of ceramics, animals and still lifes. Edmond Van Coppenolle (1846-1915) was born in Ghent,
but active in both France and Belgium. He moved to France to work in the porcelain workshop of Eugène Schopin.
Here he decorated porcelain vases and plates. Highly appreciated and known for his still lifes of flowers that come close
to the French taste. An Impressionist painter, he uses colors with vibrancy and luminosity and a robust brushstroke.
Edmond Coppenolle died in 1915 in Château-Landon, France.
