Important work depicting the disfigured face of Christ with his head crowned with thorns in the most traditional image of "Ecce Homo".
It is one of the most classic and representative depictions of ancient painting, which has seen the great Masters from all over Europe try their hand at its realization. Among these, the Nordic and Spanish painters stand out for their intensity and dramatic realism.
Our splendid copper is a classic example of 16th century Spanish painting strongly influenced by Flemish art and condenses the pictorial characteristics of these two great schools.
The conditions of the painting are truly excellent with a very fine craquelure but without any, even minimal, color loss.
The splendid Venetian frame with Certosina inlays increases its importance.
Certificate of authenticity is issued
