Lovely double salt cellar in Cesa silver with central handle and rose garland decorations
Description:
Description: Lovely Italian salt cellar (h.17) made in 1944 in 800 silver by Cesa, well-known silversmiths from Alessandria: formed by a double bowl and central handle ending in a ring with a laurel wreath (photo n°4): in the shape of small boats, each resting on two small shell-shaped feet. Decorated with openwork rose garlands: inside the bowls in blue glass. The period can be traced back based on the hallmarks: in this case, the 800 silver mark inside the oval is accompanied by a rhombus without the fasces, inside which we find the silversmith's identification number and the initials of the province in which the object was produced (Al 1): Alessandria, goldsmith no. 1, Cesa. This hallmark came into effect in 1944. Perfect state of preservation.
