Description:
Antique Italian bookcase originating from an old grocery store, made of pine in the early 1900s: the lower section, with rounded corners, is panelled on the sides. Frontally, it features two rows of drawers with glass: in the lower row, 4 large drawers with two original handles placed laterally (cm.60; h.41. Glass cm.40; h.24) and, going upwards, 5 drawers with one handle placed at the top (photo n°6: cm.48; h.27. Glass cm.35; h.15). The height to the top of the lower section is cm.93, the height of the upper section is cm.158. The upper section, divided by three shelves, is in turn divided into 15 compartments: the first, going upwards, has 3 compartments, each of cm.81x42; h.40, decorated in the uprights by 4 half-turned spool elements. Above, the 3 compartments are divided by 4 half-columns: each is divided by a further 4, for a total of 12: each measures cm.38x42; h.47. Frame composed of many small squares in slightly sloping wood. The antique bookcase is in good condition: a conservative restoration is recommended. Measurements: cm.267x50; h.258. If desired, it is possible to deduct the cost of the restoration, which we estimate at 1800 euros.
