"Madonna and Child" by Francesco di Simone da Santacroce (Santacroce 1470/75 - Venice 1508). He was the founder of a long line of artists whose activity continued until the late seventeenth century. He was the founder of a very active workshop in Venice, where Jacopo Palma the Elder, Andrea Previtali, and Francesco Galizzi, known as Rizzo, took their first steps; upon the master's death, Rizzo inherited the workshop.
