Excellent condition. ---------
We present this exuberant pair of river and lake landscapes where the real protagonists of the canvases are majestic trees, particularly lush and verdant. The natural context, so airy and luxuriant, is a hymn to nature and leads directly to the workshop of Antonio Francesco Peruzzini, a leading figure in landscape painting between the 17th and 18th centuries.
His works, well represented here, are distinguished by magnificent trees with long trunks and large crowns that stand out clearly with well-defined contours against the blue of the sky.
The two canvases show a remarkable vigor with precise and decisive brushstrokes, the result of a seasoned painter's technique. The date placed on a pilaster in the lower left of one of the landscapes takes us back to the early 1700s, with Peruzzini in his sixties and in full stylistic maturity, therefore inclined to a more essential and full-bodied rather than a miniaturistic painting.
The result is two real jewels of great impact and extraordinary vivacity.
The elongated and unmistakable figures of the characters belong to the whimsical hand of Alessandro Magnasco "il Lissandrino" who notoriously collaborated with Peruzzini in the creation of the most important paintings.
The two paintings were created in perfect symmetry with the horizon aligned almost to obtain a single painting for a large wall.
Certificate of authenticity according to law with detailed sheet of the works.
