Extraordinary Louis XVI commode, markedly curved with a double curve on both the front and sides.
The choice of two half drawers under the top with two large drawers below is very elegant.
The top is shaped with canted corners and the legs, in perfect Louis XVI style, are fluted quiver-shaped.
The materials used for the veneering are thuja burl, blond poplar burl with maple threaded ribbons, while the solid parts are made of walnut wood, all chosen in combinations and of excellent quality.
It is the most beautiful and important Louis XVI commode in the city of Venice which, unique in Italy, produced furniture with Rococo movements even in the Neoclassical period, avoiding inlays of garlands and festoons in favor of the use of splendid burls. This maintains the tradition of Venetian furniture of the 1700s with incomparable movements and surfaces covered with the most precious burls.
We specify that this magnificent piece of furniture, in addition to being from the right period, is absolutely authentic in all its parts, both external and internal, with the Cadore fir back still intact, as well as the bottoms of the drawers and the original hardware.
