Pair of Chinoiserie Vase Holder Columns

Pair of wooden vase holder columns, entirely lacquered in chinoiserie style. With a shaped form, the base features a high plinth painted with red and black checkered reserves. On the four uprights are small shaped panels, decorated inside with floral motifs of oriental taste. On the four main faces are larger reserves, the central ones are painted with oriental scenes: exotic plants with colorful birds, landscapes with pagodas, inhabited by aristocrats and palanquins carried by servants. At the top is a shaped and ebonized top.
