Crystal chandelier in the Montgolfier style, first half of the 20th century
Description:
Gilt bronze and crystal Montgolfier chandelier, Empire-inspired from the first half of the 20th century.
With a classic circular teardrop structure, the chandelier features two rings of gilt bronze acanthus leaves, one at the top and the other larger one in the center, from which cascades of strands of faceted crystals arranged in gradation originate.
The chandelier conceals 9 lights that, illuminating the crystals from within, enhance the refraction effect when lit, giving it greater brilliance and splendor.
This type of chandelier is in fact called Montgolfier or "thousand lights" due to the precious and scenic effect of the crystal decorative elements illuminated from within.
