Among the houses in the foreground, a gondola glides, reflected in the water of a canal, the gondolier standing and pushing with the oar as the sun caresses the houses. On the left, a couple hurries on, while a little behind them, young girls watch with wonder as the gondola passes. On the right side, another gondola arrives, only partially entering the painting.
