Description:
(STMA44)
The Antique Marble Sculptures category features a Male Sculpture, a Bust of a laughing Boy-Child of small size, from the late 1800s, 19th/20th century. The statue in white Carrara marble bears the signature on the base of the Italian sculptor Pugi.
Guglielmo Pugi (1850-1915) was born in Tuscany in Fiesole and worked in Florence where he had his studio-atelier. Many works created by the sculptor were made for the foreign market, especially to the United States. In fact, in 1901 he participated in New York at the Buffalo Fair and in 1904 in Missouri at the Exposition Universelle.
