Plastic synthesis and essential form of a violin player, the conception of the Violinist sculpture dates back to the late 1910s, and from 1920 the subject also appears in some preparatory drawings, one of which was exhibited in Rovereto in 2005. As with the Bautta work, the first known versions of this sculpture are small in size, in painted plaster, made in 1921 and exhibited at the Monza Biennale in 1923.
The Violinist represents one of Thayaht's most successful sculptural creations, the outcome of which seems to fully express and preserve the root of his aesthetic thought.
The elegant and perfectly harmonious shapes trace lines that accompany the perception of the observer, allowing one to distinguish the movements and perceive the rhythm of the music performed by our musician.
From this plaster version, several castings have certainly been made, both in aluminum and other metals.
