Splendid large-format oil on canvas depicting a large group of Saints of the Roman Church carried to glory by three Angels with outstretched wings. --------
The three Celestial Creatures escort the Saints in their ascent and, with their arms raised, point to Paradise. -------
The Host of Saints in turn directs their enraptured gazes towards Heaven. -------
The excellent pictorial skills of the Author are evident both in the perfect rendering of their faces and in the complex movements of their hands. -------
The composition is articulated in such a way as to make all the Characters depicted protagonists. ------
It is a lively, dynamic, engaging and very pleasant scene, made even more scenic by the size and magnificent colors of the canvas. -------- The pictorial and chromatic characteristics, the typical dynamic depiction of the scene as well as the expressions of the protagonists lead us to place the work in the prolific workshop of the Neapolitan Francesco de Mura, -------- The coloring of his works with particularly warm and luminous hues breaks away from the severe colors of the Neapolitan Baroque and influences the Rococo painting of the 18th century. ------
