PAIR OF LARGE CRATERS WITH "MARINE ALLEGORIES" IN MURANO POLYCHROME GLASS - Signed "futurist" style works by master Toso
Description:
Important pair of works made with a mixed technique as only the great masters of Murano know how to create. The large drinking vessels are made with a "double incalmo" and "double thread intrusion" technique with "triple fire in polychromy" processing. This difficult technique requires three steps per color. The marine figures, of a fantastic, almost mythological and futuristic appearance, are typified by the intrusion of Calcium Carbonate which, by creating bubbles of different sizes, gives the idea of ??the movement of these arcane creatures in the depths of the sea. The two ends of each work are "pulled with pliers".
The signature of master Toso is visible at the foot of each work.
Murano (Venice) - second half of the 20th century.
