Polychrome glazed ceramic statue titled "Paternal Love", made by Sandro Vacchetti for Lenci, 1930. Under the base, it bears the hand-painted signature in black "LENCI, MADE IN ITALY T 24 - 6 - 30", the doll design impressed in the clay, and the word "LENCI". Also impressed in the clay behind the base is "ESSEVI". Dimensions: 17.5 cm x 18 cm x 18 cm In good condition. Number 8 in the general catalog of the historical archive of the manufacture, photograph number 8. The work portrays the love of a father for his son, a subject dear to Vacchetti himself, in this case, the author of a clear autobiographical citation. He created it in 1930, a period in which he significantly contributed to Lenci, becoming its artistic director until 1934, the year in which he founded his own manufacture, the equally well-known Essevi. Sandro Vacchetti was one of Lenci's most prolific artists; he was a painter, lithographer, and sculptor and is still remembered today as the author of numerous ceramic models well-known in the collective imagination, even among people not involved in the sector. His works are of high collector's value and not easily found on the antiques market, especially those with the doll impressed under the base, a testament only to the first two/three years of Lenci's production, from 1929 to 1931.
