GOLDSCHEIDER 'LA FIERTE', signed HANIROFF, antique bust sculpture

Goldscheider sculpture from 1899 by the artist Haniroff entitled "La Fierté" depicting an allegory of pride in the guise of a young woman. In the lower part of the bust, written in relief in Art Nouveau characters, the title of the work reads "LA FIERTE'" (from the French "pride"). On the back, at the bottom, the words "Reproduction Reservée" can be seen, while also on the back, in the central part, reads "2178 126 55" and a little further down the manufacturer's mark. The work is listed as number 2178 in the general catalog of Goldscheider. Dimensions: Height 65 cm The work, with a distinctly Art Nouveau flavor, is the personification of pride in the form of a female bust, a personification made explicit by the sculptor in the haughty, proud and disdainful gaze of the young girl. The showy and sophisticated hairstyle masterfully frames the delicate face, almost hiding its beauty and occupies a preponderant role in the composition imagined by the sculptor. In fact, it is evident to a closer look the carnal plasticity conferred to the hair, which contrasts well with the rest of the sculpture, decidedly less jagged and set on a more fluid and smooth modeling of the material. The slender dress, from realistic, becomes pure formal abstraction, becoming a preamble to the inscription "La Fierté". Packaging and transport will be carried out professionally.
