Florence, 19th century Column in cipollino green marble with rotating capital Dimensions: cm 35 base, cm 33 capital, diam. cm 23; h. total cm 111 Monolithic column in Greek cipollino green marble, coming from the Karystos quarry. Probably recarved from an ancient Roman column. In Roman times, the use of this marble, like that of Egyptian red porphyry, was exclusive to the emperor.
