Jean Duplessis-Bertaux (1747-1818) - attended the studio of Joseph Marie Vien (also Jacques Louis David's teacher) - this work is taken from statues, bas-reliefs and cameos from the Gallery of Florence and the Pitti Palace (1789-1807) with engravings taken from drawings by Jean-Baptiste Wicar.
"Engraved Antique Stones" - Colored burin engraving with gilded wooden frame and hand-painted cream and burgundy mat with gilded groove. Left unfinished, it was completed by the engraver Henri Marais.
