The painting is a work of excellent quality, executed by an author working in the workshop of the great Spanish master, in one of the many variations of this fascinating subject. His depictions of the Nativity achieved enormous success and were painted in several variations in his workshop to meet the demands of ecclesiastical and private clients. This exciting painting is part of these extraordinary works. A canvas with the same characteristics is exhibited at the national museum of Seville (see published photo) The conservation conditions of the painting are excellent.
