(Saint Camillus of Lellis was the founder of the Order of Clerics Regular Ministers to the Sick (Camillians). In 1746 he was proclaimed a saint by Pope Benedict XIV and, together with Saint John of God, universal patron of the sick, nurses and hospitals. He is also the patron saint of Military Health and the Abruzzo Region, together with Saint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows.
