In 1929, Drei presented, within the framework of the 1st Exhibition of the Lazio Artists' Syndicate, in Rome, a group of four sculptures depicting Comedy, Music, Dance and Tragedy.
This version, lacking the arms (which in the bronzes were cast separately and welded in a later stage), certainly refers to the already known one published by F.Bertoni (Faenza, 1986, fig.62) which appears complete in its final version in patinated plaster of which it is the sketch.
A direct comparison allows us to notice the instinctive and passionate use of clay (and therefore of plaster) which is then translated into a classical key by Drei in the final work.
Significantly beautiful, in our model, the mantle on the back of the work, barely worked.
