Madonna with Child and Saint John the Baptist. SOLD

Splendid 16th-century canvas made by a Florentine master in the most classic canons of the Tuscan Renaissance.------ It is the typical composition that sees the Virgin seated holding the Child who turns his gaze towards the little Saint John.------ The scene takes place indoors, but an opening in the upper left irradiates the complexions of the three protagonists with light, creating an intense effect of light and shadow.-------- The bright red and blue colors of the Virgin's garments are resplendent and denote the use of very valid pigments that have remained unchanged over time.-------- The face of the Madonna is painted in an excellent manner, as are the faces with the knowing glances of the Children.-------- Canvas dimensions 94 x 73, antique lacquered frame 103 x 85.---------- Excellent state of preservation.
