R/9649 - Rug made in the first half of the 20th century in Egypt, by Turkish/Ottoman craftsmen, following the patterns and construction characteristics of rugs from the Turkish-Iranian area. With cotton warps and wefts and a wool pile, Safavieh rugs feature soft and warm colors, a medium-fine knotting, and designs that incorporate the open-field motifs of the early Safavid rugs.
