Oil on board of excellent workmanship, signed front and back by Giulio Cisari, represents a plain landscape with a barely hinted mountain range in the background.
Born in Como in 1892, Cisari proved to be a formidable hand as a wood engraver. Between 1911 and 1936, he participated in several national exhibitions, published handouts and manuals on engraving, and created, designed and printed several book covers. He died in Milan in 1972.
