Description:
A typical item from Sorrento's production, there was a very wide production of these objects that were made as souvenirs for tourists from the mid-1800s onwards. Fundamental characteristics are the small size of the objects, the openwork carving and, above all, the inclusion of inlaid figures with tinted woods on an ebony background representing tarantella dancers, morra players and characters with baskets of oranges or lemons.
This small mirror in particular has dancers, women with baskets and small bouquets of flowers. It can be dated between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.
Dimensions when opened: 31 x 46 cm.
