Oil on canvas from the first half of the 18th century, created as an altar piece.
It depicts, on soft clouds, angels presenting the commissioning bishop to the Madonna with the baby Jesus, in the presence, in the highest part of the sky, of an imperious God indicating the commissioner himself. In the upper left part, a host of cherubs and angels support a drape of cardinal red velvet. In the lower part of the painting there are the three Theological Virtues in their classical iconographic representation.
The dimensions of the canvas are 77x104 cm, the gold leaf frame is contemporary to the painting.
