Extremely rare Spanish Gothic double-bodied cupboard and two solid chestnut chairs with an upper section featuring 2 doors, 3 drawers, and 3 niches with a characteristic arcade. Lower section with 2 doors. Original ironwork from the period. The "gouges" that characterize the surfaces of the cabinet are interesting and testify to its age. The piece, originating from an ancient Castilian stronghold, belongs to the Spanish Gothic Mudejar period (which began in the 15th century). The 2 solid chestnut chairs of the same period and style were made to accompany the cupboard. The piece, in exceptional condition and authenticity, was selected by a committee of international experts, published, and exhibited in 2000 at the historical re-enactment exhibition in Imola (Bologna) dedicated to Caterina Sforza, lady of Romagna, who lived in the 15th/16th centuries.
Very high quality. Museum-level piece.
