The two paintings depicting "Bouquets of flowers in a vase" are the work of the 18th-century Venetian painter known by the pseudonym "Master of the Guardeschi flowers".
These are, in fact, two typical products of this prestigious and elegant artist - still unknown by name, but long identified as Francesco Guardi starting from the researches of Giuseppe Fiocco (1950, pp. 76-85), recently reiterated by Gianluca and Ulisse Bocchi (1998, pp. 466-476) - as is proven by the comparison, among the many possible, with his equally typical works, such as the two "Floral Triumphs" formerly at the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the two "Floral Compositions" from the Scaglietti collection in Florence, and finally the two "Capriccios...
