This fascinating rare French table hat stand from the mid-1800s is composed of a fluted column in copper-colored metal. The base is flared and has an engraved lower rim also in bronze-colored metal. Above the column is a sphere on which rests a stylized bronze finial: the upper part is a woman's head, while the lower part is a stylized animal's foot.
