In England it is called Modern Style ; Jugendstil is the name it takes in Germany; Nieuwe Kunst it is called in Holland;  Style Sapin in Switzerland;  Sezessionstil or Secession Style in Austria;  Modern in Russia and Stile jóven or Arte Modernista in Spain.

The Art Déco takes its name from the International Exhibition held in Paris in 1925, whose full name was "Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes".
